Living Thing
By Peter Bjorn and John
Peter Bjorn and John have always been a band with strong pop sensibilities, without being a pop band. I would certainly say the band is more of a ‘rock’ band than a pop group, but since the release of Writer’s Block and the popularity of “Young Folks”, it’s hard not to notice the overwhelming poppy, toe-tapping aspects to most of their music. With their newest release Living Thing, they’ve expanded on what makes them a great group into writing songs that are more rock-forward while still having a hook or two that reminds you why you like them so much. The new album feels like a great mix between Writer’s Block and Falling Out without being too much of either. I’m really excited to see where they take their next record, but one things for sure, I’ll certainly hear it.
